OŚRODEK TU I TERAZ / WARSZTATY / April 2019 / 14.04.19 - 18.04.19

During the week of April 14-18, 2019 at the beautiful Tu i Teraz Retreat Center in Northern Poland, we men will gather together in the spirit of ancient indigenous clans to re-awaken and deepen our relationships with our ancestors, each other, and with the many diverse animal, plant, bird, amphibian, and archetypal spirits that informed, and gave meaning to their lives.

While honoring the peoples and cultures of the Euro-Asian north, we will make direct, un-mediated contact with the spirits of Siberia, Mongolia, and the old traditions of the Norse and Celtic people and their gods and goddesses … Odin, Thor, Bridgette, Loki, the Polish Four-Faced God, and the ancient tree, bear, wild boar, eagle, wolf, and salmon spirits that were supported by the elements of earth, air, fire, and water.

We will journey to each of the three shamanic worlds through animal trance dances, the use of drums, rattles, and the ancient sweat bath or sauna. Together, we will also craft a beautiful ancestor altar with photos, relics, amulets, and totems of our diverse heritages, and wear ceremonial clothes and paints to honor the spirits. And… we will have direct and conscious relationships with the spirits of water, fire, earth, and air. And, we will learn how to deepen, integrate, and sustain our connections to all these spirits as we return to our daily lives and relationships.

As you already know, we come together several times each year with our various teachers and clans to learn to open our hearts and deepen our practices SO THAT we can bring our gifts and love and compassion back to the people. One of the classical definitions of a shaman is one who “goes out into the other worlds and then returns to ordinary reality” to share her/his knowledge and understanding with their families and communities.

The gathering will be led by David Thomson, PhD, who has spent many years learning from, and participating with diverse shaman and medicine people from Siberia, the Peruvian Amazon, Mexico, the US, and Canada. David and his wife Mattie are the co-founders and co-directors of Sacred Circles Institute, and the authors of the year-long shamanic initiation course, “Walking the Sacred Wheel” and the advanced shamanic course, “The Tree of Life.” They have been teaching and leading traditional ceremonies in Poland since 1994.

The number of participants is limited due to the nature of this workshop. The date of the advance payment for the workshop sets the order on the list of participants.
