“We Can Only Learn To Love By Loving” – Rumi

The archetypes are our fundamental realities, they are a set of psychic images present in the Collective Unconscious, our inaugural Heritage.  We could say that it is the psychological equivalent of Instinct. When we dance an archetype, we are mixing it deeply with our humanity, until such it would allow our Unique qualities to flourish.

Carl Jung who first identified them, called them "DNA of the human soul". They represent the foundations that underlie our psychic health and are our drive towards a full enjoyable life. In this workshop I’m going to propose that we can dance some of them, having as a reference the Greek Mithology, will be our guests of honour. Let's dance !!!

4 Archetypes:

WARRIOR

"Being a warrior does not require perfection or invulnerability. He is the absolute vulnerability. That's the only real courage."

It is part of human universals, seen in all cultures throughout the flow of the time. In the search for truth, meaning and human potential, each society metamorphosed this strength to your needs. Many of the Great Civilizations have them in its traditions and symbolic narratives. It exists in Shamanic traditions of American Indians, Incas and Mayans in monastic warriors orders from China in the Celtic tradition of the “Knights of the Round Table” and the medieval Templar Order. In Greek mythology we find the gods Ares and Athena, and his Roman equivalent Mars and Minerva, in the Old Testament are stories of the warrior for God. From the ancient Sparta we ear the legendary stories that tell us about the bravery of Leonidas and his 300 warriors. From Japan comes the familiar concept of the Samurai, people trained from an early age to follow the Bushido, the way of the warrior. Waking the Warrior Path means taking our own personal power in our hands, claim the sacred heritage of being able to accomplish the Identity, it’s the courage to Be.

LOVER

The desire to love, an interpersonal fusion is perhaps the strongest impulse of humankind. It is the most fundamental passion that unites the human race, clan, family, society. For integrated Human bathed in the waters of this archetype, emerges the view that all things are connected to each other in a beautiful, coherent and mysterious way. Naturally has an empathy with the world around them. It´s the primary energy pattern of enthusiasm and passion. It is expressed through the original thirsty that our species has of pleasure and well-being and translates the impulse to dive deep into the world of sensations, it´s guided by the need to give and receive love.

MAGICIAN

"There are the many paths to God there are souls on the Earth." (Rumi)

It represents the Perception and Access to Experience all that is not immediately accessible or visible. Describes the set of psychic images that invite us to dive into the vast ocean of the Collective Unconscious and in these waters taste the sacralised understanding of life. Interests to recognize that "we are not isolated beings but we participate of the unified movement of the cosmos" (R. Toro).

In the history of mankind the Mago manifested itself in full form in primordial societies through the "Shaman" word meaning from its root: see and know. In traditional societies it was the "healer" who restores life to discovering the underlying causes of the phenomena, who returned the totality and fullness to the human being and the mediator between the visible and the invisible. In Greek tradition the magician manifests itself mainly through small and large initiation mysteries of Eleusis who were initiation rites to worship the goddesses Demeter and Persephone agricultural and also the Dionysian.

THE KING / THE QUEEN

King as a mediator, a bridge, synthesis agent, able to marry Heaven and Earth in the tabernacle of the heart - can be a real "axis-mundi" as called Mircea Eliade, developing the quality of knowing to dive into the Ocean Sacredness of Transcendence and maintaining the connection with worldly affairs. The King is assumed also as an inspiring example "as led the King, well behaved the Kingdom," the saying goes.

An identity that integrates the King in its fullness is synonymous of a being who takes his responsibility (ability to respond) to the phenomenon of Being Alive either the personal path or in its collective and indivisible vast cosmic dimension. It´s urgent to live life with Authority, which literally means being Author of one self.

Biodanza means Dance of Life. It is a dance of heart and freedom from South America. It's a system that integrates music and movement; it also makes possible to establish an authentic relationship with yourself, with other people and with the environment. Biodanza creates experiences of intense awareness of being alive in the here-and-now.

Celebrating life is a goal of Biodanza. It stimulates community bounds and makes establishing relationships easier, as well as helps participants regain joy and vitality to celebrate the sacredness of life. It makes a way to feel happy, healthy and more confident, with strengthened self-esteem, also improving the ability to make choices.

Biodanza is a delicate but deeply transforming work on consciousness which awakens for universal solidarity, based on working with the body, body movement and dancing.

• Integrates body, mind, emotions and soul.
• Arouses vitality, creativity, sensuality and emotionality.
• Teaches openness, joy, building good relationships and expressing emotions.

Feeling the connection with your body, emotions and energy, makes the transformation occur. These experiences are called "vivencias". They allow access to our primal emotions and help with the most natural expression of true self to emerge through movement.

“Biodanza represents the primordial energy pattern of deep connection and freedom of expression, beauty, enthusiasm and passion. It lives through the original thirst that our species has of health, love, pleasure and well-being. It is translated by the impulse to dive deep into the world of sensations. It is guided by the compass that lives in our heart, connecting us with the need and the desire to give and receive love. Biodanza is based on psychological and philosophical research, dance anthropology and traditional rituals. One of the teachers explains the origin of the word "biodanza" from the Greek bios meaning life, and from the Spanish danza which means dance.

Workshop is based on personal, direct experience - individually, in pairs, subgroups or in a group of all participants. There is music, movement and dance to enable the creation of harmony and closeness in interpersonal relations.

Rolando Toro Biodanza System is a method that works on every human being’s potential.

It reveals various possibilities and forms of expression to us. It is based on the positive resources of each of us, according to the author's method - the creator of the system, prof. Rolando Toro. Her father is a psychologist, anthropologist, poet and artist from Chile. And since the 1960s, system itself has been distributed in over 30 countries around the world as a method of personal development.

Biodanza draws our attention into building relationships and bonds between people through eye contact. An eye contact is considered as the fundamental base of a beautiful and meaningful communication without words. This also helps to open the heart, transform person's needs and desires and to be ready for new experiences.

Dancing is barefoot. No dance experience is necessary. You can start Biodanza anytime and enjoy benefits from its practise!
