Description
This specialized Two-Year Shamanic Training Program is offered by Arvick Baghramian and organized by her Freedom Within. The program is designed for those interested in deepening their shamanic practice, either for personal growth, or with the ultimate aim of incorporating shamanism into their professional practice and helping others achieve their potential through shamanic work.
To participate in the program, you must first complete the workshop of Arvick Baghramian for beginners “Magic of Shamanism” and get qualified for the program by Arvick.
The two-year shamanic program offers to students the combination of intensive course work and ongoing individual mentorship, the two-year shamanic training program is designed to deepen participants’ knowledge and engagement with shamanism and teaching them how to bring shamanic work into their daily life.
Throughout the training programs students will be introduced to a broad variety of shamanic techniques and practices, including shamanic healing, communication with the spirits of nature and the elements of the weather, soul retrieval work, divination work, extraction healing, and advanced shamanic counseling, among others.
Some of the themes and topics that the program will cover include relationships, wealth and abundance, death, living and mortality and realizing our full potential in our professional and personal life. Participants will learn how to work more effectively with shamanic journeys, ritual, ceremony and practices inspired by indigenous shamanic cultures, bringing shamanism into their lives with awareness, heart, responsibility and respect.
The training program will consists of 6 meetings or modules of 4.5 days each, with approximately 8-12 hours of work per day. Each meeting will cover different topics, techniques and themes, but the exact sequence and content will be determined by Arvick as the course progresses, to best match the particular needs of the group.
Rather than merely being separate courses on various shamanic themes, the program is designed to provide participants with a structured continuity between classes and continued personal mentorship throughout the process of learning. As such, in addition to participation in the 6 modules, “homework” assignments will be given to each participant and participants will be expected to report back to Arvick on their work and progress in between meetings (in English!). The total length of the program is 2 years, with 3 group meetings or modules per year.
All meetings will take place at the Tu i Teraz center in Nowe Kawkowo. Meetings will be residential, meaning that participants will be lodging at the center for the entire duration of the class. All meetings will be translated to Polish.
Before joining the program, all participants will be expected to:
- participate in the "Magic of shamanism" beginners workshop led by Arvick,
- read Arvick’s book "The Magic of Shamanism",
- complete a short form (in English), specifying their motivations and interests in the program.
- get qualified for the program by Arvick

Arvick Baghramian
I am a psychotherapist, specializing in helping children and adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. It was working with these individuals that led me into shamanism and other healing techniques, which I have been teaching since the 1980s. Working with this particularly traumatized group of people made me realize that traditional, verbal therapies, while effective up to a certain point, have important shortcomings when it comes to helping people to fully heal past injuries and traumas, transform their lives and regain their power. In search of more powerful techniques, I took up Play Therapy, NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis, and then moved on to practicing and teaching Reiki, Conscious Breathing and the visualization technique of the Personal Totem Pole. However, it was in shamanism that I finally found my definitive professional home, marking the powerful transformative capacity of this spiritual and therapeutic practice.
I have trained extensively as a shamanic counsellor and teacher since the 1990s with Jonathan Horwitz at the Scandinavian Shamanism Research Center, as well as the Michael Harner Foundation for Shamanic Studies in the United States. I have been practicing and teaching shamanism around the world for the past 25 years, running workshops for practitioners and teachers in the UK, the USA, Israel, Poland, New Zealand, and Spain, where I also currently live. While I keep drawing on my past training as a therapist and continue working and running workshops in Reiki, Conscious Breathing and the Personal Totemic Pole, my practice is now primarily centered on shamanism and shamanic counselling.
In 2007, my book "The Magic of Shamanism" was published in English the UK. It is also available in print and ebook format in Spanish and in Polish.
I am also the author of the therapeutic game Revelations, designed to facilitate communication between children and parents, teachers or therapists in a fun and exciting way. The game is available in English, Spanish, Hebrew, and Polish.
